As I understand the example: Player x has a 2 year - 5M salary. Player x had 8M of coverage put on him. The team covering the player x will have a buyout amount of 4M while the team buying out the player will have a buyout amount of 1M.
The cost of the buyout goes 50% to bums (250K), 50% to crash ($250K) for 2023.
