REGULAR SEASON
If you want to add a player to your roster, you will have to bid on that player. Once you win the player, then you have to sign the player.
Player bids will be based off the AAS. The GM with the highest AAS will win the player. The bid has to stand for 24 hours before the GM is awarded the player. Then the GM has 48 hours to state the contract for that player. When you list the contract for the player, you must list all the terms in the deal.
Minimum increases are as follows:
Up to 8 hours since last bid - 500K minimum increase / 100K for minor league
8-16 hours since last bid - 1M minimum increase / 250K for minor league
16-24 hours since last bid - 1.5M minimum increase / 500K for minor league
Once the minimum increases it doesn't go back down to original limit. For example once the minimum increases to 1M it stays at 1M until 16 hours after the last bid then it increases to 1.5M.
Players won in FA have to have a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 5 years on their contract.
The minimum salary is $500K.
Bids must be in $500k increments.
For players that have $500k to $700K salaries, the maximum contract they can have is 2 years. For players having a salary from $750k to $1M, maximum length is 3 years.
The minimum amount for a minor league player is 100K.
For minor league players won that are under the age of 21, you can sign these players to 7 year deals. However, if you call them up to your major league roster and they are below 500K AAS, they will be brought up to the MLB minimum of 500K per year.
For players 21 and over, the maximum length is 5 years. Same rules apply as above when you call them up to the majors.
Minor league contracts will not be allowed to have options years.
If you bid on a player, win that player and are unable to afford that player, the punishment is as follows:
1) you will buyout that player as if they have a 1 year contract
2) you will lose a draft pick as such: 0-5M AAS = 3rd round, 5-10 AAS = 2nd round, 10+ AAS = 1st round
3) if you do not have the pick that would be required to be given up, we will look at the players drafted around that area and take a similar prospect from you
4) you will pay 10% of the AAS in the next season (not upcoming one)
Minor league players are allowed to be given multi-year contracts until the playoffs start. Players that are over the threshold are subject to the rule that if they are bought out within 3 weeks of the buyout deadline, they can only be given one year contracts. Any player over the threshold that is won after the buyout deadline can also only be given a 1 year contract.
Offseason Free Agency:
The minimum bid is 500K. You must state your bid in total AAS. Your bid must stand for 72 hours in order for you to win that player. Once you win a player, you must state their contract within 48 hours of the ending bid. Remember that their contract can only be +/- 30% of the AAS. You may then include him on your roster and add him to your payroll.
Increasing the bid for MLB players will go as follows:
Within the first 24 hours: 500K minimum increase
24 hours - 48 hours: 1M minimum increase
48 hours - 72 hours: 3M minimum increase
Increasing the bid for minor league players will go as follows:
Within the first 24 hours: 100K minimum increase
24 hours - 48 hours: 200K minimum increase
48 hours - 72 hours: 500K minimum increase
Once the minimum increases it doesn't go back down to original limit. For example once the minimum increases to 1M it stays at 1M until 16 hours after the last bid then it increases to 1.5M.
Players won in FA have to have a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 5 years on their contract.
The minimum salary is $500K.
For players that have $500K salaries, the maximum contract they can have is 2 years. For players having an AAS of $750K or less, the maximum is 3 years.
Over bidding / Over Cap
During the off-season, teams will be allowed to go over the 28 man roster limitation in order to bid on players. There will be a deadline for when teams will have to be under the 28 MLB and 40 MiLB roster limits. Teams will be allowed to bid no more than 130% of their cap space. For example, if a team has 20M in cap space, they can have at maximum 26M in outstanding bids.
If you bid on a player, win that player and are unable to afford that player, the punishment is listed under the constitution. However it could also include the following:
1) buying out that player as if they have a 1 year contract
2) if you do not have the pick that would be required to be given up, we will look at the players drafted around that area and take a similar prospect from you
3) paying 10% of the AAS in the next season (not upcoming one)
Contract Options:
-You can only have 1 option year; meaning that you can't sign a player to a 3 year contract with 2 years of options.
-The option year must be the AAS that you win the player with. Meaning if your winning bid is 10M AAS, the option year must be 10M.
-The option year has to be the last year of the contract. You can not sign a player to a 2 year deal and say the 3rd year is the option and if you pick that option up, it adds 2 more years to the contract.
-If you assign an option to a player and you decide not to pick up that option, you will still have to pay a 10% buyout penalty.
-You must state the contract and the option year when you post the contract for the player you won. You have 24 hours to make your contract final. Once the 24 hours is up, you can not change the contract.
-You are only allowed to give out 5 contract options per fantasy year. (starts when free agency begins and will end the Sunday of championship week)
International Signees
International players that sign during the year will be handled as followed:
-21 and younger will go into the minor league draft that occurs in the off-season
-22 and older will become free agents
-Once the player officially signs with a MLB team, they will be eligible in this league
-If a player 21 and younger signs after our MLB draft but before the first game of the season, they will go into the FA pool.
Any free agency signing that would make your team illegal must have a corresponding move posted with 24 hours (in-season) of when you win that player. If no move is posted within 24 hours, an assumed 1 year contract and buyout will be given to the player won in free agency
